How come the Yanks can put on a live Awards show- coast to coast, televised live as it happens- & it will all run smoothly & be classy.
Yet "The Brits" has to be pre-recorded, shown the next night, & still make a hash of it?
Is it just that the americans are better at EVERYTHING?

"Wardrobe malfunction", anybody?
Live television broadcasts are a potential minefield, and the US Oscars, CMA Awards and Superbowl coverage over the years has proved this just as much as the UK's Brits, BAFTAs and Comedy Awards.
After the Mick Fleetwood / Sam Fox debacle the Brits have been shown the night after the event, but this year they've reverted to live presentation, no doubt with a suitable delay to blank out the worst of the obscenities which some pop artists sometimes think it clever to drop.

It was live last night. People only watch for the freak show element anyway.

I didn't even realise! Shows how interested I was.
But the US shows are often good. The Grammys were superb this year.
I generally avoid the Brits after the horror of Jarvis Cocker making an idiot of himself during little Michaels' song years ago.
I just think the Yanks are better at most things |
