Former Tottenham captain Gary Mabbutt has called on the world of football to come to the aid of Paul Gascoigne.
Gascoigne, 40, has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and Mabbutt, a friend and former team-mate at Spurs, wants his ex-colleagues to help out.

It is true that some people haven't always given him good advice and mixed with the wrong people. Someone who we know very well who is on our Radio every weeknight. I don't think he has seen him for a while? |

Based on what gets fed to us by the media, I've never held Paul Gascoigne in very high regard. But I'm struck by what seems a very genuine outpouring of love and concern. Perhaps I can at least wish him a full return to health.

Its very sad that he wasted his talent. But if he is wandering around naked in public and threatening people, the police have no choice but to section him. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |
