The head of one of the biggest police forces in Britain has been found dead, it has been revealed.
Michael Todd, the Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police (GMP), was reported missing on Monday night.
Rescue teams found his body in a beauty spot in North Wales on Tuesday afternoon, rescue teams in the Snowdon area revealed.
Mr Todd, a former Met Police assistant commissioner, joined GMP in 2002. He also worked in Essex and Nottingham.

What a tragedy. It sounds as though he had personal/family problems, speculation about which will no doubt appear all over the place in time to come.
My sympathy to his family.

| I have sympathy for his family but none for him. What a selfish prat - of all people, he'd know how much work would be involved for the Mountain Rescue volunteers who had to risk their own lives to find him and bring his body back. |

The press coverage in London of this guy hardly paints him to be a saint.
According to the latest press reports he had an eye for the ladies outside of his marriage plus he seems he seems to have other issues going on.
Not exactly a great model for his colleagues if the Press Reports are remotely accurate. |

But the press always plays up this aspect.
I think some of it should be taken with a pinch of salt.

It has to be a lonley job being head of a police force. If you are suffering depression who can you talk to, without it appearing that you arent up to the job?
