Having been on BBC1 at 9pm on Easter Day, this has turned into quite a critics v public slanging match, with some of the former doing a hatchet job on it, but many people seemingly enjoying the adaptation.

It was a little bit slow and might have benefited from being shown over 2 nights in about 50/55 minute sections. But overall I think it well deserves a full series. What did others think?

Ian.

I liked it, it was nice gentle drama for a Sunday night, what's to not like.

I thought it was good.

What was the problem with it? It was similar to the books, gentle and easy to watch.

Not everyone wants to see car chases and shootouts at every opportunity.

Yes Sandra you have a good point.

I'm used to watching detective programmes with some action in them-it just seemed slow, unexciting to me etc.

Still appreciate others would like it.

Indeed my wife's favourite programme is Antiques Roadshow-personally I can't stand it-I guess that's why we have 2 TV's in our house!

I suppose like everything else it comes down to a matter of personal taste. I like easy going gentle dramas like this but programs like spooks, waking the dead, etc do nothing for me.
Bring on the rest of the no.1 ladies' detective agency series I say Very Happy
