I woke up this morning to see an incredible Christmas card scene out of my bedroom window! Shocked
The following weather saying might well have come true had Easter not been so early in the year this year.
Christmas In Mud, Easter In Snow. Who else has been snowed on this morning?

We had snow here on the Norfolk coast this morning too, laid for a while but it's gone now.
Even more strange to me is the sight of Surfers riding the waves in the snow... Confused

Snowing in Northumberland just now - heavy stuff along the Tyne Valley near Hexham, already the A69 is shut due to an accident caused by the snow.

Can verify this. It snowed for about 3 hours here but most of it thawed pretty quickly later in the afternoon. Bitingly cold wind this evening, though.

And I've just hit posting no 1000! Here's to at least 1000 more.

Ian.

Congratulations Ian on your 1000th post.

We were up there yesterday, and was expecting there to be snow. We arrived back in Cheshire to find the cars covered in snow and 2 inches when we got up this morning. The sun melted it by lunchtime but we had some more this afternoon.

Congratulations, Ian, on joining the "1000 and above club"! Very Happy

Snow's still hanging around this morning - "waiting for more", as my mother used to say.

Many thanks for congratulatory remarks on going into 4 figures.

Who remembers significant snow at the beginning of the first week of June 1975? Cricket at Buxton was snowed off.

By the end of that week we had a heatwave, which lasted for most of the summer.

So hang in there--things can only get better.

Ian.

I remember it well Ian, I came back from holiday to find snow!

As you say it was red hot the next weekend.

I remember the incredibly late snow of that year too. Even as far south as Surrey & Hampshire it was snowing as late as May & into June, yes, it was a very cold spring. And as you say, a heatwave summer followed, just in time for a family holiday on the Isle Of Wight!
