Guys and gals,

Just in case you were wondering where this went, I have decided to move it somewhere out of sight until we decide what to do with it.

Perhaps it is illegal to diss the guy? I am in the same league as you, Mark - I loathe Ken Bruce and always have done. I really cannot see the big deal behind him. He belongs on local BBC radio as far as I am concerned.

Hey guys, the thread was hidden not because of the topic, but because of the trouble on it.

After discussions with John, it has been decided to reopen it. But.... if there is the least bit of trouble started again, I will lock and remove the thread.

The above message is spam and a violation of House Rules. Please delete and issue warning.

All threads dissing Ken to be removed also as there is no one on this forum fit to kiss his backside. So there.

My mum says you will always be trouble son while you have a hole in your backside Embarassed
I like KB, he is one of the few, along with RA, that regularly plays long tracks all the way through without talking over, singing to or cutting short. So lets hear it Ken, Led Zep, Dire Straits etc. all the way through Cool

There's one thing that's common to both Ken Bruce's current show and Richard Allinson's Saturday show (when it was three hours and had the 'Oh no! not all of it' spot) and that is Gary Bones as producer. Most of the long tracks heard on Ken Bruce were previously regulars on the 'Oh No...' spot.

RA's Saturday show was where I heard Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" all the way through for the first time.... great stuff. I'm sure some presenters simply itch to put Dire Straits' "Telegraph Road" on in its entirety so they can pop down to the canteen for a cup of tea....! Smile

Not sure when you heard it Cherskiy, but JV played it right through not long after he took over the show. I remember the messages on his board!

I realize that every member on this board is entitled to their opinion but surely this should be voiced once in the thread, unless of course they have something new or fresh to add. The originator of this thread should take heed of the proverb "empty vessels make the most sound".

I really enjoy the Ken Bruce show. His dry, wry, self-deprecating humour makes me laugh, and his banter with Lynn Bowles brightens up my mornings.
KB is far from smug. I would describe him as confident, calm, and professional. I also think he plays a broad selection of music which might explain his popularity.

I wasn't at all surprised to learn that KB's show had recorded an increase in listening figures for the third quarter 2006, which speaks volumes.

If you don't enjoy KB, hit the off switch or change stations, which is what I invariably do at 7pm.

Oh Golly Gosh, I think that navymisterbadger is being a bit too profound & I am sure that Ken is big enough & ugly enough, going by what Lynn says, to laugh at having not just one, but 2 gripe threads. I like KB and think his morning show is just right, he never takes himself seriously and can laugh at himself. So don't post less ernie, I for one enjoy your posts, well most of em, not too keen on these pro CE posts, but I'll get over them Wink
