Someone ought to start the ball rolling on the new Jeremy Vine board, So here are today's topics for discussion.

Teacher's strike: The first teacher's strike for 21 years will affect about a third of schools in England & Wales. Do you agree with them striking.

Bank Charges: There will be a judgement today on whether the Office of Fair Trading can rule that bank charges are unfair.

Smoking In Class: About a private school teacher who was reprimanded for lighting a cigarette, then offering it to pupils in a lesson.

Church Applies For a Drinks Licence: About a vicar who wants to sell beer & wine in his small village church. A much needed service?

On topic 3. Surely now illegal under the smoking ban.

Topic 4. I wonder if the beers on sale might be: Bishop's Tipple, Abbot Ale, Ballard's Old Episscopal or even 'King's Shilling' & 'Fruiter's Mild' both brewed by Canon Royall brewery!

After hearing the news I'm not sure if it's a victory or not. Confused No doubt Martin Lewis will advise.........

No immediate payouts either it would seem.

I wonder if the Bank Charges result will apply to business accounts?

Topic 1 - Who the eff and jeff do these teachers think they are??? They complain that basic food prices are rising, well they are also raised for the decent hardworking people aswell. They should stop and think about the factory shift workers who work their fingers to the bone to scrape by and they will not receive a pay rise. But don't forget the factory workers often can't afford to strike and lose a days pay because it's tough enough to get through a month as it is. Many of these nancy's who teach have never entered the real world, just going from Uni back to the school environment.

I was only half listening and I may be wrong but did one of the teachers say her starting salary was £22,000?

Don't know about Norfolk Santa, but the average wage in "Yellowbellyland" is about £14K pa. I can assure you that without my MOD pension of £9K, we would be on the bread line, I wish my annual salary was £22K, that's working 40 to 50 hours per week, without any overtime pay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also have to sign a legal document, an annual certificate of inspection; if my work is shoddy, or not to British Standards, I stand to be prosecuted by the HSE. Do teachers have to sign to say their teaching is up to standard? Evil or Very Mad Mad
