Gordon Brown was so proud today to announce how he'd taken so many children out of poverty. It seems he feels it is acceptable to scrap the 10p tax band, because parents are cushioned by tax credits.
Now I understand. Single, low-paid workers pay £200 a year more in tax to fund other people's children. That's fair isn't it ?? _________________ Standing on Ray Moore's shoulders |

Seems to me that kids are deified nowadays and if you dare say anything 'against' them you're in trouble. |

I'm sick of hearing about kids and benefits... if you can't afford them - don't have them I say!
I have an employee this morning in a serious sulk because "she's going to be worse off" and "it isn't fair" walking around with a face like a slapped @rse so now I have to pussyfoot around her in case I upset her even more.
Why can't I look after animals instead. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Well children are our future and we need to ensure they are supported as we have a falling birth rate in this country, so under the present old age pension scheme, who is going to pay our pensions when we retire?
I on the other hand had a 3.9% rise in my MOD pension, due to the scrapping of the 10% tax band, was £10 worse off in April and only £20 a month better off for the rest of the year. My council tax went up almost 10%, with the rises in energy and fuel costs, we are considerably worse off. Why can this government not see they are taxing the low and middle income earners into absolute poverty; we just love you Gordon, bring on the general election!!!!!!!!!!

I have two children, one aged 5 and one aged 2 and I'll happily take any money that the Mr brown wants to give me .
What does annoy me though, is having to pay £11.50 for my sons 'field trip' from school when parents from poorer families don't have to pay a penny. If they are that poor, how come they can still afford the latest mobile phones, Sky tv, copious amounts of beer and enough fags to keep B&H in business.
Rant over, I'll go and hide now before the abuse starts lol _________________ Mig |

I don't have children, I have cats instead because
1. They usually eat their food properly
2. You don't worry so much if they stay out all night
3. They don't fill the house with their greasy, sullen mates
4. They don't keep whining about the latest trainers/mobile,ipod
5. They don't keep saying "so", "wha'ever" "like"
and
6. If one of them gets pregnant you can usually sell the result _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |
