Johnnie will be sitting in for Terry for 2 weeks starting monday week, may 12 as he takes a well earned break.Aled Jones will be doing Dawn Patrol the same 2 weeks.(I'm not insinuating that Terry and Sarah are on holiday together or anything by the way ) |

It will be a nice change for a couple of weeks. Much prefer Aled doing DP but I think I'll be craving a bit of STW after 2 weeks of Mr Walker. _________________

...but this must mean that Terry isn't broadcasting the morning show live from Serbia on the Friday before Eurovision. It's a shame, I was rather looking forward to him navigate that political minefield (and indeed Sarah's attempts to hand over to him...).

It's strange how they drag Richard Allinson in for Bank Holiday, get Roger Royal to cover Aled Jones and then put Aled on DP. Don't get me wrong I like Aled, but I always thought he was only hired to do his Sunday show and Song or Praise and other religious shows, not get to play cover DJ? |

Johnnie Walker is the 2nd best DJ/presenter on Radio 2.
Will definetly be tuning in for this. |

I know he has, but why isn't Richard A as he's not doing BFBS anymore. He also not got a full time job at Radio 2. Aled has, so saving just letting him sit around as a spare cover. He could have covered for Wogan? |

Here's the thing, Mark:
Aled Jones has a contract with the BBC.
Richard Allinson doesn't have a contract with the BBC.
Therefore, Aled will get the gigs. Just because Allinson's got some spare time doesn't mean he'll get work at Radio 2! (Having said that, it's odd that he doesn't - I'd have thought his sterling cover work would get him something). |

He must have a lot of spare time these days.
Still no word on his big new gig yet, I take it? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

No Ernie
RA has been in California and has only recently returned to the UK.
I'm sure if he is continuing with a career in radio he will advise us all of his plans when he is ready. |

I'm really looking forward to it. R2 needs a bit of a lift just now (IMHO ) lets hope Johnnie can do it.

Johnny's back for two weeks - great. Makes getting up early in the morning worthwhile. This morning's show was excellent and even though don't have to rise early tomorrow, will set my alarm so that I can hear him.

I listened from 7.30-8.30 this morning, excellent show and great to hear JW. As mentioned elsewhere, credit to him for mentioning Brian Matthew after the news, something that other media outlets haven't really picked up on. The music this morning was superb. Dylan AND The Clash in the space of 15 mins? No you're talking.
JW, you were robbed last night at the Sony's. |

Great music. Warmly introduced. And Deadly...the more I hear him, the more I think he's the funniest man on Radio 2.

Robbed?? That's putting it mildly!
The show's have been great this week - and the music - well, even though I'm 'listening again' I can't drag myself away!

Must say I think Johnnie has been superb yet again.
Johnnie seems to be one of the few people on Radio 2 who cares about music, he's not scared to play 50's and 60's stuff either (are you listening Mr Bruce).
He also seems to involve the general listener a lot more than Terry and seems to be genuinely interested in listeners messages.
Got to agree about Deadly too, I find him really funny with some great responses and remarks. The complete opposite I must say to Lynne Bowles who I find totally unfunny with nothing interesting to say at all. |

Another belter this morning in my opinion. Certainly set me up for the rest of the day! Decent banter and music, just a shame he's ruled out taking on the slot permanently. _________________
