Presumably because it didn't work. Ken's gone back to the old system as he said on air last week. |

I can't see anything will go wrong with that format. Someones head will roll if anything dodgy does happen. Hopefully the phone lines don't go down. |

Because this is the way it's always been done! The other way (which has lasted 6 months, if that) was just a sop to the bosses to get Popmaster back on air. |

Why is there so many name the year questions on popmaster nowadays?
I'm sure there didn't used to be so many, going back a few years. |

Yes but can you name the year when they started. |

Listening to Popmaster at home last Friday I got 6 in the first round but redeemed myself a bit by getting 21 in the second round.
I don't think I'll be going on the programme any time soon!

I was actually on it, about 2001 IIRC, won the "Streamliner" radio with 24 points.
Trouble is it's not very good at picking up R2!
Anyone else been on it? |

Mike Reynolds was on earlier this year GG, sure you remember his name from the old R2 boards? He got 39 so will go though to the end of year contest. Vicky Richardson was on a couple of years back too and got 39 as well.
I think there was another former poster from the R2 boards on the other week as well, Pete Davis?
I've scored in the mid 20s often when listening but other times it 3 or 6 so wouldn't like to do it on air!

Anyone else wondering or indeed know what will happen to those contestants who achieved high scores in early 2007 before Ant, Dec and Liz Kershaw helped to push popmaster out of the door - I mean, those contestants never got a chance to enter the 'grand finals'. I'm sure they were all crying into their turkeys come last Christmas... |

Hi Nick,
I did wonder as there has been no mention of them. I suppose they could bring them back for this year's Champions League if there aren't too many qualifiers from this year.
