I personally don't believe in Abortion. I really have strong feelings against this. If you are not able to to cope with kids or are not sensible using protection then you shouldn't destroy your body. Girls need to be more responsible. I think it's also wrong leaving abortion to 24 week term as the child has a small heart beat and growing inside.

I do understand that sometimes Women are not able to continue with the pregnancy due to complications, etc!!

Also I believe that every child should have or know there Mother and Father?

I'm disappointed that they haven't lowered the limit from 24 to 20 weeks.

I appreciate the religious and ethical reasoning of those who would reduce the line to 20 weeks, but I'm willing to accept the more sanguine views of the Health Minister and chairman of the Commons Committee which has looked into this:- http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7412118.stm

It is said that there are very few abortions by "choice" at the 24-week limit, and very few live births, surviving or not, at that stage. How many women (mainly young and ill-equipped to deal with motherhood) would reducing the limit to 20, or 12, as some have advocated, affect? Would they not fall prey to "back-street" operations, or package trips to countries with fewer scruples?

As medical science improves (allegedly), do you keep drawing the line further and further back?

I always have difficulty with the argument of the baby's suffering in such cases. I don't know of anyone alive who was aware of anything which happened to them before, during or even for up to two years after birth.

(Just amended the tense and added a couple of words in that last sentence - it could have been read in a different way to that intended)

I was too and even 12 weeks. The debate on Jeremys show was interesting. It slightly upset me whilst listening the nurse and other saying they can hear a slight gasp of air.

It's a strong debate which I'm really interested in.
