Sir Terry Wogan hinted that he may quit Eurovision as we only got 14 points?

I know everyone can't last forever, but with Eurovision being so political and full of hyprocrties would it be the same without Wogans tones?

So will Ken Bruce be taking over?

I don't know if Ken will take over, probably not. To be honest I think it's about time we pulled out our funding for this.
The neighbourlyvoting has always been there of course but now it has spoilt it and it isn't funny anymore.

I thought Terry sounded really sad last night, I would be suprised if he turns up in Russia next year.

I only watched the voting and he didn't seem his usual jovial self during that part of the proceedings.

I really do think it's time for Western Europe as a whole to pull the plug and say enough is enough. The BBC needs the money for programming that is not known to be a farce before they even start to plan the thing.

i agree the Eurovision has gone past its sell by date, but then it always has been a politcal thing just like the Olympic's there was a time when Spain,France and Ireland would not vote for GB because of political agendas ,the Eastern block countries i think is more to do with fear of represcussions for not being friendly with their nearest rivals, many i suspect are depending on supplys of Russian fuel ,and the Balkan states are still recovering for the horrors of 10 years ago and are trying to show they are all peaceful and friendly now,by voting for their neighbours, even if the songs is rubbish.

I say, let the UK pull out of it. The excuse about the Russian entry sounds like they're using the 'Sympathy votes are all we need, my friends'* trick as used on X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent For Parading Freaks.

*apologies to Rare Bird
