Yes, I was rather pleased to hear that Hull City won promotion. I can't for the life of me see them being anything else than another yo-yo club, but best of luck to the team.
Not that you'll beat Newcastle, naturally - but the Mackems down the road are usually a push-over, so you're virtually guaranteed six points straight away! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Well, they'll get a nice pot of money from Sky/sponsors to buy some decent players, and to pay higher wages to those who got them there.
Can't see hero Windass getting many games in the new season, might be his last season, but the year should be a nice little earner for him. |

Deano playing for 50 - 60 minutes with Caleb Folan coming on to run rings round opposing defences - Magic! You'll need a good defence to stop that - something Newcastle don't have _________________ Geddon

Hey, we don't need one - remember we've got Kevin "You score three, we'll score four!" Keegan at the helm now! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Imho Hull will score about the same number of points as Derby did this season on their debut in the Premiership. |

but will do it before Christmas!
The chairman and the manager have brought forward year 4 of the 3 year plan.
I for one will be very happy with mid-table mediocrity _________________ Geddon

Geddon, I wish Hull all the best for 2008/09 - really - just as long as they finish below us and above the Mackems and Smoggies, of course.
It's always good to see fresh blood in the Premiership, even if some end up as yo-yo clubs. Hopefully Hull won't share Derby's fate. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Incredible when you think that, just six years ago, they were languishing in the fourth division and more likely to disappear through the hole at the bottom of the barrel.
The amount of money which has been injected to get them to the Premiership probably doesn't bear thinking about, but also probably pales by comparison to the amount which will be required to keep them up. More's the pity. _________________ Ron |
