A £6m murder trial has been halted at the Old Bailey following a Law Lords ruling on witnesses giving evidence anonymously.

I know. But how do we know if the witnesses were witness to the event, if nobody knows who they are.

The way around this is if the defendant's lawyer gets to know who the anonymous witnesses are and can agree that they are vital/good witnesses.

Trouble is, the defendant's lawyer wants the defendant found not guilty... even when he is guilty......
