Not seen mention here of the newest UK DAB radio station!
theJazz
I know it started Christmas Day but being abroad this week I could not tune in and only today had chance to try listening on-line.
The sound from the speakers right now is fabulous, but....
But... this is a spin-off of ClassicFM and already some of their faults are showing...
The first track I heard was not introduced, and not post announced either. It was Louis Armstrong singing 'Moon Indigo' but they didn't say.
The second track was someone singing That's Alright Mama (not Elvis) ... I'm none the wiser.
Third track I heard was Look What They've Done To My Song, and I'm beginning to wonder what theJazz will do to the great jazz songs.... they haven't said who sang it.
All I've heard is a pre-recorded voice saying This Is theJazz. Looks like they've started up without a midnight presenter. Wasn't it rubbish presentation like this that was the failure of JazzFM????
Next track sounds like Kenny G's saxophone..... I'm offski
Oh well back to Bob Harris on Listen Again.

I tried tuning in yesterday on my DAB radio & it said "Station off air". Do they only broadcast certain hours? |

Clive,
I've been listeneing on my DAB radio today. The music is excellent, covers 7 decades, and a lot of tracks I've never heard, but still not heard a presenter telling me WHAT they are playing. The website is very sparse.

I may give it a try. Not a huge jazz fan, but i like some of it. Ella Fitzgerald is one of the greatest jazz vocalists, IMO. In fact, one of the greats in any genre.
Some stations on DAB radio scroll the title of the track currently being played.
I wonder if they are planning to remain dj-less, or if some will appear during the course of time?
I'm still waiting for a full time country station |
