I wonder what other ideas the Government have in mind to help families and the low pay workers? Well he can't back track on this one as he did say he has other plans to help at PMQ's |

Its only the increase that is halted. But he's making plenty from higher VAT returns on fuel as a result of the higher prices anyway. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

The Government are just panicking, allowing themselves to be driven by unfavourable media coverage. What they need is a bit of good old fashioned resolve. Honour what they stand for, and die by it, if that is to be the way of things.
This 2p thing is nonsense – fuel will have gone up by 40-50p a litre between Budgets. Welcome though it is for a tax rise to be postponed , it’s not really going to help anyone.
They’re trying to treat the symptoms rather than the underlying cause of the economic disaster that we are just at the beginning of. Get inflation under control. That’s gonna hurt but until we have that jab we aren’t gonna get better. Interest Rates up, Public Spending Down and a lengthy rehab….….. but of course, nobody would vote for that. |

And there's the rub, of course. The electoral system positively encourages short-termism. But I don't know what might constitute a better alternative.

I think Fuel needs to be capped at £1. If Oil goes down in price then the fuel goes down, but if it doesn't it stays at a quid.
