Singer Rod Stewart and equestrian gold medallist Zara Phillips are among those recognised in the New Year Honours.

Pleased to see a CBE for 'Mr Christmas', conductor and composer John Rutter.

Isn't it time Bruce Forsyth had a knighthood?

Roger Royle should get something for services to broadcasting and religion.

Ian.

According to Phil Jupitus this morning, Brucie also advertised sofas back in the 1970s.... (just tying this thread in with the one re SM and DFS! Smile )

I suspect he'll get something in the Birthday Honours - services to dancing, or suchlike.

I think Wright should get an OBE. As in Other Bugger's Efforts because he certainly can't do it alone.

I'm actually quite surprised Ken Bruce dosen't have something, he's done quite a few years of service now.

I wasn't aware that Zara Phillips was so good within her chosen field.

Are we to assume then that we have at least one dead cert for a gold medal when we host the Olympics.

Very reassuring.

Past performance is no guarantee of future success, just a good indication and lets face it she certainly performed well in recent events. So we have hope of success with Zara, in the future.

We have loads of dead certs for Olympic gold medals - problem is, they'll most certainly die before the end of the race. Laughing
