Motorists could face random breath tests - as figures reveal more women are driving while drunk.

Police can currently breathalyse someone only if they drive errtically or commit another another offence.

But the ministers are considering a crackdown as a survey shows two in five women admit driving after drinking.

One in ten drove after two small glasses of wine which is right on the limit. The number of women convicted has soared nearly 50 per cent to 11,300 in a decade. Six in ten men also admitted driving after boozing..

Safety group Brake which did survey with Breakdown firm Green Flag - said drink - drivers were no longer just eight- pint men.
