what Piers Morgan wrote about Jonathan Ross at the weekend in Live Magazine?
here's an extract ..." and the sad truth is that I really do think Wossy's had his day. He looks bored, has grown insufferably smug, and when four Poofs and a Piano get bigger laughs than you, it's over, I'm afraid...."
The artical is really quite long winded but an interesting read.....not sure if I agree with everything though...

He's always been insufferably smug, that's why I can't bear him! He completely ruined the Dad's Army tribute last week, I guess the Beeb have paid him so much of our money they just have to keep using him until his contract runs out. _________________ MiS |

Don't suppose you have a link, do you Rach? I've tried looking, but the Mail's site isn't the most user-friendly (it's far too crowded) and when I did get to Live I couldn't find the article.
After twelve series in the space of seven years it's hardly surprising that the formula is wearing thin. A little JR goes a long way - I frequently end up feeling embarassed for his guests, as he by turns insults and drools over them. He always said he grew up watching and admiring Michael Parkinson - pity that he didn't take note and learned to shut up and let his guests speak more than four words without interrupting them. He never has been funny (he ruined They Think It's All Over), just a big child craving attention. _________________ Ron |

He (wossy)used to be quite funny I think but now he just goes for shock in your face rudeness.. that would only be funny if it were Ricky Gervais on the receiving end.
another snipit .. " he remains marginally more watchable than that mincing little midget Graham Norton."
Oh dear, I think there's a tautology in there Piers
I can't find it on-line Ron ... I've got the Magazine right here though.... It's mainly focussed on their long friendship which has faded, and Piers' new TV chat show which is going head to head with Wossy from early next
year.
I found it ...

Thank you
He's quite upset, isn't he, though there wasn't really any need to recount the early slip-ups he helped to cover up.
I didn't see it, but weren't those remarks, on Charlotte Church's own show, intentionally OTT - "What has she ever done?", knowing full well that she has done very well for herself, considering she could have been content to be just a pretty face with a penchant for filling the celeb magazines (rather like Charlotte Church).
I like the phrase "I intend to actually ask some proper journalistic questions". This is ITV we're talking about, peak-time, and by a tabloid editor-now-columnist. We shall see - the proof of the pudding and all that(and I have never been able to get out of my head the sight of Ross devouring that M&S chocolate bread and butter pudding) _________________ Ron |

Wossy will always be around whether it's a small show. I think there is always someone behind you which will be better. Graham Norton will also end up wearing thin. |

He does seem a bit miffed Ron. I didn't see the Charlotte Church thing so I don't know if what he wrote was near what actually happened. It was discussed between Jo Brand and Mark what's his name on Saturday morning though.... |

...it's Mark LAMARR!!! One of R2's best presenters.
I've grown tired of Ross over the last couple of years, and while Piers may have a point or two, it's still pot kettle with him, always will be.
I still get the feeling Ross will beat him head to head in the ratings, but if it make JR up his game a little, that can only be good |

Ross does seem to be getting a bit over exposed because the BBC need to keep him working to justify his salary. The Dads Army Tribute Show was a case of a fish out of water. The man never watched an episode in his life! _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

The BBC seemed to use him as a laughing stock for the Dads Army Show. Years ago he would have refused to do that, but he can't really now. |

I believe JR stated that PM was unqualified to be a judge on Britain's Got Talent.
As I recall from the Britain's Got Talent semi final, PM was the one judge who saw the good in Per Diem. That much at least went down well with me as,up to then-at which time they were apparently given a song to sing which did not suit them and asked to change the singer-they were the best act in the whole competition and deserved to win it.
As far as JR is concerned I have had no time for him since his very early days on Channel 4 and that continues to be the case.I suffered him through the Dads Army tribute because I like the programme but if I may be kind, I think he was the wrong person to be presenting it.

I suppose this is PM trying to be controversial again. Not content being thumped by Clarkson he's now having a go at Wossy. Let's face it, short of faking photos in a tabloid what is he actually for?
Wossy may not be to everybody's taste (and I can certainly understand why) but I find him infinitely preferable to the smug Lamarr who seems to be totally unsuitable for this kind of programme. _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

Now I'd have thought Ross was the smug one of the two... I used to like JR a lot but I have to agree with most of Morgan's gripes.
Mark Lamarr on the other hand can do no wrong with me and I prefer him on the Saturday show. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Piers Morgan is a slimy, deceitful, lying, two-faced, arrogant egomaniac with no interest in other people (especially if they're not celebs) and has no basis to start having a go at others. The fact that the media are happy to keep indulging him is depressing. |
