I must admit to previously finding Katie Melua's stuff a bit samey, even twee, but I think this is a gorgeous song, which she sings beautifully.
Anyone else like it?

Clive,

Yes, it's a good song, from her latest album, which is good also.

SHe does a nice version of 'on the road again'.

Cool! Is that the willie Nelson song?
I may consider getting it.
I wasn't two taken by her musings about two million bicycles in beiging 7 so forth. Where did those stats come from?

I saw her on the Impossible duets show doing 'over the rainbow' with Eva Cassidy. Sent a shiver down my spine.

Yeah, I've got "Piece by Piece", but I don't like the "Nine Million Bicycles" song.... twee, maybe, irritating, definitely, after a few plays. It was a gift, though, so can't complain too loudly. Not sure whether I should add "Call Off The Search" to my wishlist - anyone care to comment?

As in the Canned Heat hit of about 1970? If so, I'd be interested to hear it.

I have call off the search. Quite a nice album. a friend bought it for me.
I considered buying the second album, but when I heard the nonsense of 9 Million Bicycles in Beijing & a couple of others, I gave up.
But Shy Boy is a really nice song- & she sings it well

Hey! - I never said that! Confused

Clive, Lord Evans - yes, it is the canned heat version - it's possibly the best track on the album, nice re-working of it, trumpets, etc.

I've also got her first album and she does a great version of 'Lilac Wine'.

I wonder if she had the same squeaky voice, but looked like Michelle Mcmanus, she'd still be as successful?

Natasha,

Works for Bob Dylan - he looks like a hobo (no disrespect meant) but has a fantastic voice.

When he was younger he was buff - he's aged ok, I think. But Dylan is a legend anyway, no matter what he looks like.
