Britain's most popular radio station is running an ad campaign emphasising its newly edgy credentials, but its attitude to urban music is prehistoric.

I do think they tend to back track sometimes? I can understand Radio 2 having a policy of not playing hip-hop as the audience may not appreciate it as much as a Radio 1 listener. Although Hip hop does appear on cartain shows on Radio 2. Paul Gambiccini and Mark Lamarr are 2 examples. Steve Wright tends to add a few, but his show is platformed to do this.

As I detest hip hop I'm rather grateful that they don't play it anymore than they do.

Why oh why do people insist of trying to make Radio 2 into something it's not meant to be? If you want hip hop go elsewhere or put a CD on! Evil or Very Mad

There's plenty of hip hop on Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6Music - why should it be on Radio 2 as well?

I'd rather have a Hip Op than listen to Hip Hop!
