.........the constant bogus registrations on this board?

The last few "members" on the memberlist are obviously spoof registrations and probably the work of "you know who".

I realise that members accounts have to be admin activated but that doen't stop some of the bizarre and often quite offensive names appearing before they get a chance to be deleted.

It's a shame that this forum is going so well but it is stuck with the current phBB software. There are better forum softwares available that have a more stringent registration process that avoids this sort of thing.

When I see this sort of stuff happening it only makes me think that someone is lurking with intent and it puts me off posting. I have always had my doubts about "frank"

Don't know a thing about the software, but if it can be done, do it!

I would think it's "you know who" for sure Laughing but I don't find anything offensive about it... well, not enough to take evasive action or make me stop posting.

There have recently been several 'respectable' looking member names appearing on the register/application for membership, but if they submit a non-responsive e-mail address (i.e. a message could not be delivered to the profile e-mail address) then their application is refused. Recently only aviddiva has been accepted.

May I ask what happened to my previous registration "Wagoners Walk"? I registered on here earlier in the week, but received no notification e-mail. I've checked my spam box and there's nothing in there from this site either.

Regards,

Terry Cohcrane.

Welcome Terry,

I recall the registration Wagoner's Walk. I sent an e-mail verification message. I can only assume it didn't reply and the member was removed.
