Did I heard Richard Allinson refer to, and play, Dido's new offering today. For some reason I thought she walked away from it all back in 2004/5, or am I mistaken? |

I'm one of those who wished she had walked away from it all... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

She's been working on the comeback album for about 2 years (it should have been released this time last year) and I'm surprised she's come back with something so weak. Or maybe I shouldn't be... |

Clearly someone who has sold in excesss of 24 million albums is rubbish!
Dido has a great voice and makes excellent records.
Her latest offering is very good. |

I have always found Dido a somewhat depressing singer. All of her stuff sounds the same to me. |

Nah, she does nothing for me I'm afraid (apart from make me turn the radio off )
But I guess at the end of the day it comes down to whatever floats your boat. |

So, Dido has sold 24 million albums. I bet Sir Paul McCartney has sold even more. |

Definitely a case of "Emperors new clothes" with Dido.
Dreadful dirges, all her recordings. One of the few artists who always makes me turn off. _________________ MiS |

Well I like her and enjoy her recordings.
Wouldn't it be a bit boring if we all liked the same thing. |

One of the few singers which did actually make me switch off or over... preceeded by "oh God, not again.."
Of course she can sing, I don't deny that but there's nothing else there in my opinion, nothing special at all.
There must be many thousands of females who could do as good so what the appeal is I don't know.
At the moment, I like to hear Duffy for example. She has shades of Dusty Springfield in her songs and quite a unique voice too, although I can understand somebody else not liking it. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I enjoyed watching Duffy's live performance on BBC4 a few weeks ago. A very good show. I still think that 'Rockferry' is my favourite track of hers and that 'Mercy' was definitely flogged to death on both Radio 2 & 6 music, which was a shame as I started out liking it. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |
