Pressed on whether Brand and Ross would ever be seen on ITV again, Grade said he would not rule it out, but with one proviso – they would never appear live.

They didnt even bidfor him last time. BBC offered £6m per year, Ch 4 offered £4.5m. So BBC paid £1.5m more than the next best offer.

Michael Grade, The BBC and the terms Pot, Kettle and Black spring readily to mind.

Hmm. I heard he was offered more than the Beeb from ITV but turned it down to get more editorial control.

Greg Dyke confirmed the BBC paid £6m vs Ch 4 £4.5m in the papers at the weekend. Think it was the Times.

old ground I know, but how can anybody be worth that kind of money?? I can understand how it must really irk some other presenters... maybe it doesn't, but I'd bet it does..

I wonder how much say, Mark Radcliffe gets by comparison? £600,000?
