The Mail has been anti BBC for years. They hate how it's funded and ran. If you gloss over the Bruce and Mayo Story it's made up from bits over the years, and put together by a journalist who has nothing else better to do after a lunch time jaunt down the local boozer. The pictures were old ones to make it look good.

I doubt something else will come up again before the years out about the BBC or Radio 2? Hold the front page or burn the paper.. Laughing

I thought the BBC was "Auntie"

Mark, you either possess genius on the edge of my comprehension or you're barking mad, but either way, it sounds good to me. Smile

with a new controller taking over the change could well be brought forward to next year.new controllers always like to 'leave their mark'.

by the way the Telegraph is also reporting Ken Bruces imminent demise ..they say BEFORE SHE RESIGNED Lesley Douglas haD allready assured Simon Mayo he would be getting kens job,and the change of controlelr wont change that plan. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/celebritynews/3411833/Ken-Bruce-to-be-replaced-by-Simon-Mayo-on-BBC-Radio-2.html

I hope Ken is moved to Sarah Kennedys slot and she gets the chop instead. That would make perfect sense, and justice.

I've nothing against Simon Mayo, but I would be very unimpressed at losing Ken Bruce. Why should he go when he's such a popular presenter. I'd much rather Simon replaced Evans if he is to come to R2 on a permanent basis. In any case, if this was another Douglas disaster decision. It can surely be scrapped now she has gone!

well now that the Chris EVANS on BREAKFAST with Russsel Brand on drivetime idea has fallen throough...

He isn't leaving and neither is Sarah. I think this story is long gone and you are causing trouble by stirring things. By the time 2011 comes along other things could have changed.

Ken Bruce rocks.

I see they've used the "four-times married" line - it's news to Ken!

Exactly.

Indeed maybe the new controller, when they are appointed will have their own views on current presenters and who will be staying and who will leaving/joining.

Contracts have been signed, but they can be broken if it is written in them?

Remember 2011 is the time when Five Live is supposed to be moving up North. Mayo could be offered another job somewhere else if he wants to come back to Music Radio? Is Nicky Cambell going, as he's another Ex Radio 1 jock?
