I liked him of course, but I thought "On the Buses" was painful sometimes.. particularly the film.

Yes I just heard this on the 6pm news his other claim to fame was interesting that he was the first person to draw money from a cashpoint machine!

I loved him a real entertainer.

Rest in Peace Reg

Painful and feeble, about par for ITV.

I remember hearing him on radio doing the odd stand-up routine on shows like Workers' Playtime, and then on tv in The Rag Trade, with Peter Jones, Sheila Hancock and Miriam "Everybody Out" Karlin.

Think Reg would rather be remembered for the Rag Trade than OTB, but it didn't do his bank balance any harm! I have happy childhood memories of "Beggar My Neighbour" - we thought the title was SO rude! ( well we were littl'uns!).

Good old Reg.
