I think the Government knew something of his arrest before it happened?

Whilst the Tories have been pointing the finger at Labour. It's emerged the Police didn't even have a warrant. Shocked

The speaker should really resign. He is not fit for the job.

There's no way he's going to climb off the gravy train, I fear. Nice though, the way he dumped on the Sergeant at Arms, Jill Pay. Her handling of the situation leaves a lot to be desired, but since he was largely responsible for her appointment to the post, I think he bears some degree of responsibility. Others have resigned for less.

Quite. It would be like my boss telling the local paper that he didn't do it, it was all that Ian Warburton's fault. How professional is that?

Ian.

I thought the Speaker's performance was comical - reading from a well-honed script and calling for "order, order" when he was interrupted by catcalls! I would think his position was untenable, but what do I know? I only contribute to his salary! Rolling Eyes
