Without the shadow of a doubting Thomas it has to be......

MoDutta, or what ever his name is. That voice irritates me about 1/100th as much as Evans.
Where on earth did they get him from? The £ shop?

Michael Parkinson. I really enjoy the music on PSS, I just wish he wasn't presenting the show. He's always struck me as being abit up himself.
He doesn't so much 'combine good talk with great music' as 'yabber yabber yabber' in between songs - sometimes even his guests sound like they're nodding off. Mind you, I suppose he's a bit better than, Clive Anderson. Very Happy

Earlier today, whilst I was doing the accounts for our family business, I was listening to lots of music on iTunes. Here's four albums I listened to:

1. "Let It Bleed" by the Rolling Stones
2. "The Best of Al Stewart" by Al Stewart
3. "Songs for Swinging Lovers" by Frank Sinatra
4: "Dusty In Memphis" by Dusty Springfield
5. "Led Zeppelin" by Led Zeppelin

and a bit of the debut album by The Arctic Monkeys whose title I've forgotten.

There. Some of those albums are old enough to be classified (according to your stunningly intelligent evaluation system) as being "granny music". What's interesting is that a woman can be a granny at the age of 30 (or even less). So, a huge range of music could be classified as "granny music". Albums 1-5 are surely "granny music" aren't they? In other words - you don't have a clue what you're talking about, but continue to talk you certainly will!

I happen to like any music that has soul. I hate factory-made pap, but I have sufficient open-mindedness and life-experience to know that I like what I like regardless of what others like you think. Later, I might even listen to Schubert's 5th Symphony - one of my favourites. Do I care if you approve? Nope.

What I like about programmes from people like Parky is that they don't patronise listeners and offer up a diverse range of musical genres. And they require people to be open-minded.

Pete Mitchell is head and shoulders above EVERYONE as the most boring presenter.

But I'd prefer boring to the inane drivel that Evans & Brand produce.

Pete Mitchell is award winning!?! Shocked

Was it a proper award Scott? or a contrived one like Evans Sony 'award'?
or was it one he got on the coat tails of the 'infinately more talented' Geoff Lloyd?

I bet these Phony, sorry Sony awards were for his show with Geoff Wink
I can't believe he'd win one by himself!

However, if as it sounds, he really struggles to stay awake in the early hours, maybe he will be a revelation covering for SW, but I seriously doubt it.

My favourite deputisers for Steve Wright are Richard Allinson & Mark Radcliffe. I heard Mark Goodier do his show once, also very good. I don't have any axes to grind with Pete Mitchell as I've not heard that much of him, so if he did get to do any daytime shows, I'd certainly listen.

Do you think he'll play "Wood-n't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys if we all suddenly start e-mailing/texting him? Laughing

Did have to listen this afternoon, though, because Nerina Pallot is one of his guests....

Sarah's showtime is boring, the stories are boring, the monotony of Ken Bruce is boring because he says the same thing - Parkie is boring because he plays the same drivel
what's not boring about that?

Well.... having just checked some of Ella's posts, especially those aimed at our beloved Mark, it won't be long before another warning is given.

Any more insults at Mark will result in a warning.

I think David Jacobs is our most boring R2 presenter, he just seems so condescending to me, just as he was in the 60's on Juke Box Jury.

My problem with David Jacobs, is his badly fitting dentures. The odd times I have tuned in, I expect to hear a *clank* and a pause in transmission as he fumbles down his cardigan to find either his upper or lower set.

Only just picked this up after being out of the country on business.

So... does Marky get a warning for making stupid, attention-seeking posts?

Ella. I consider that YOU have made at least 5 stupid attention-seeking posts this evening. You get the warning, for spamming.

Minor warning issued to Ella

I caught a bit of Pete Mitchell (picked my missus up from town ~2.00am this morning).

Pete really does say the same thing over and over again, I think till he thinks he's got it right; after he got a listener's text last night he said over and over again that he wondered if rats would explode if they drank fresh Coca-Cola because apparently they can't burp, he went over and over it about 5 times and each time saying 'I wonder if it's true' .... mind-numbingly unbelievable; he then played a track by a new Manchester band, what a relief.
