Very inspiring women from stage to screen and her singing. Well known for the Christmas song Santa Baby' and many more songs. She played Cat Women in the 1960's Batman series. She spoke out against the Vietnam war and got blacklisted for that by the US.
RIP.

Julie Newmar was the first (and best I think) to play Catwoman in the Batman tv series. Then came Eartha Kitt and finally Lee Merriweather.
Three actors also played Mr Freeze in the same show. Can anyone hazzard a guess as to who they were? |

I wouldn't have a clue even though I used to regularly watch the show so I Googled it... I still didn't recognise any of the names
I remember the character though.
I also remember the name Lee Merriweather and maybe her figure too... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Kids at school, we thought she was really good and sexy.
Her 'Old fashioned millionaire' inspired us to seek great things... |

I looked on IMDB. I must be older than you because I knew the names immediately.
Anyhow.
RIP Eartha. One of a kind and Santa Baby is one of the very few Christmas records that I enjoy (probably because it's not slogged to death every year) _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

Sorry to hear this, the lady had an unusual singing voice, I liked it though.
I hear Harold Pinter has passed on as well, another sad loss. |

Eartha Kitt's Old Fashioned Girl was quite a favourite from the late 50s onwards. It was well played on Housewives' Choice and Family Favourites.

Not necessarily, my brain doesn't register names very well.. as with music. I can listen to a track over 45 years and still don't know the lyrics but I'll know every note
