I note that Richard is still asking us to e-mail in requesting him to spin 3 tracks from one of our favourite albums even though the show does not go out live.

By the way Richard certainly sounded very upbeat on yesterdays show-maybe he is coming back to radio with a full time show soon.

They do after a few weeks away from the mic. It's called relaxing. Maybe not Radio 2 as the station has got the cover worked, covered. Laughing

Does anyone on this site listen to this Radio show going on out on Saturday lunchtimes on Radio Oxford.

Allinsons Albums is just the best 2 hours of radio entertainment you can get anywhere on Planet Earth.

I still live in hope that Lesley Douglas et all bring this particular show to the Radio 2 schedules one day.

Allinson rocks-you bet he does.

I've not listened for a while Mark. Must remember to tune in or catch it on Listen Again. Thanks for the reminder!

Has the technology changed /been enhanced by the BBC regarding listening to shows through the internet.

Richard seems some much louder and clearer today on Allinsons Albums.

Love the show-excellent work Mr Allinson.

I Player is a little bit more clearer. I like it as you can move it forward by seconds instead of minutes.

Richard Allinson played Like a Hurricane today by Neil Young to celebrate his 63rd birthday.

What a fantastic track that is-8 minutes of pure music magic-superb.

Brilliant show today from Richard Allinson- tracks from the Killers, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, Keane, T Rex.

Quality music from a quality broadcaster.

I listen to Allinsons Albums on BBC Radio York on Saturdays (when I'm not working) between 1230 and 1430. I think its repeated one evening during the week too. Very Happy

Thanks Mark, I had to work last Saturday, so if it was on I missed it and I can't see it in the evening schedules for this week.
I will keep looking though!

I've just had a look on Radio York and it's available on the iPlayer.

Hope you managed to catch it Angela!

I'm just listening to last week's now. I'd got out of the habit a bit, and had forgotten how good it is!

Great to see other posters tuning into this excellent weekly show.

Understand some other local BBC radio stations make take this show during 2009.

Another excellent show by Mr A. hardly a duff track all way through. Why isn't this on national radio?

Really excellent show today.

I like the feature of the famous birthdays and a record to celebrate that artist.

Interesting to note that Richard's favourite album of 2009 so far is by the Fleet Foxes.

When was the last time you heard David Casidy on the radio.

Well Richard Allinson played How Can I Be Sure on this weeks Allinsons Albums.

The diverse mix of music played on this show is outstanding.

Good work Mr Allinson.

Another great show from Richard this week.

New music from Gary Go-I think Richard may have just unearthed a star of the future here.

Love the new songs from the Lightning Seeds as well.

Nice work Mr Allinson.

I guess he records the show from London, or does a batch of them in one go? Or he may well travel to Oxford or York to record them?

Richard records the Show early on Saturday mornings at the BBC Radio Oxford Studios.

Richard uses Studio 1 if you are interested.

In theory he could record in any studio that's on the BBC Circuit, but if Oxford is the host station then it's more practical for all the programmes to be produced there and that's where the production office is based, too. It's only a quick run up the M40 anyhow. Of course, it would be very convenient for Kenny McBruce, would it not!

Looks like Richard is leaving BBC Radio Oxford shortly based on his comments at the end of today's show.

Indeed I wonder if he is leaving the BBC altogether. Shocked

I sincerely hope not! I have to work all day Saturday and Sunday now and keep forgetting to Listen Again, but I will try to catch this one.

Richard Allinson is 100% freelance and doesn't actually work "for" anyone, so he wouldn't be "leaving" the BBC. He simply moves from one freelance contract to another - and that's why he's free to take on different engagements simultaneously.

If his Oxford show is coming to an end it's always possible that another contract will pop up elsewhere - whether one-off, short-term or long-term. Either way, he's free to pick and choose.

In that case I hope someone picks and chooses to give him a new contract on something that I can receive on my radio!

I agree Angela.

Lets hope if Richard is on the move, he lands a contract with a well known radio station that we can all pick up by normal radio means.

Sadly Allinsons Albums comes to an end on Saturday 30th May 2009.

Have to say the format of the show is fantastic and I will sadly miss it.

Sadly Allinsons Albums has come to end.

A last great show.

Hopefully the format will not be forgotten and will be repeated by either Richard himself on Radio 2 or someone else will pick it up and run with it.

I have just found out/only just realised that Allinson Albums with the mighty Richard Allinson is still ALIVE, WELL and KICKING.

It does not go out on BBC Radio Oxford any longer but goes out instead on BBC Radio York at the following times:

Saturdays-12.30-2.30pm

Sundays-2-4pm

Allinson rocks.
