New Express Trains are going to be built to replace the outdated 125. 3 Versions will be built, but are we still behind the times?

Remember these colours? Lovely sound, still in service and now National Express runs some of them.

Behind whose times? I regularly travel on the Virgin Pendolinos on the West Coast Line into London Euston and I think they're fabulous. Even the commuter trains are a million times better than they were 15 or 20 years ago. I'd say the most modern of the British trains are a match for pretty much anything we see in the rest of Europe so I can't see how we can be behind the times with the new stuff.
