Mi5 have set up an alert email where you will be able to sign up and if there is a high terriost alert they will email you the details.

I dont know if this happens in likes of London people will be told not to use the tubes or should you stay at home. I'am sure this could scare people, but there again it could be a good thing.

I dont know what other things the security services could provide those who have know access to computers and the internet?

If they email everybody at the same time wont that cause network congestion which will cause servers to fall over, hence creating the very chaos they seek to prevent.
