That's not quite what he said, Mark. He said it would be his last "Saturday Morning Show". He's just teasing the world, we know he's back the following week with a show or two of a different name.

We have to wait and see then? Where else would he move too? Cue Zoe Ball...

He said that the man the man who forecasts the weather and the man who travels the world are with him for the last time on his last Saturday show.

To me, that suggests he's just to a different time slot and the usual contributors will stay where they are. There was no mention of him leaving the station altogether.

Listen Again here and decide for yourself whether he's leaving completely or not... its just before his last record he mentioned it

Mark,

Have you taken over from Iain Smith? Rolling Eyes

I think you should stop using the word 'too' as you clearly don't know what it means. Laughing

I have NEVER listened to Mo Dutta so I hope he moves to somewhere in the schedule where I might listen. He clearly is not a bad presenter going by messages here.

John

Mo does talk quite a lot - which normally I wouldn't enjoy but he's so funny and interesting with it, the weather guy is fun too as is the travel guy. Rachel Chickens ( AKA Rachel Business, one of Foxy's stand-ins on Drivetime) is the most interesting guest Mo has on, but Rachel is off having a wee one at the moment.

I always wondered if Mo sits on the back foot of Steve Wright with some of the stuff he comes out with? Overall he's a good presenter. I never listened to him when he was on the Asian Network.

No John. Iain used to spill rubbish before it happened. Laughing Anyway Iain Smith I thought was always Scott Nelson? Although Scott had many names, and still has. Laughing

Didn't even realise he was still on - shows you how much I've lost touch with Radio 2 over the past six months.

I'm 99% certain that he said it was to be his last show on Radio 2, but I'm happy to be corrected.

I only get to hear the last 20 mins or so when we have an early start on Saturdays every few weeks, so can't really comment on him.

I dont think he has been the same since moving from Birmingham, I just wonder if this is the start of further schedule changes in the near future.

BBC Radio 2 did lose that local feel. I guess the people who can't tune into Allinson overnights will listen on I- Player which the BBC are aiming more towards?

Indeed. His goodbyes, said about ten minutes from the end of the programme, were done with dignity - but you could hear the emotion coming through. I shall miss the last 30 minutes of the programme most - the chats with Richard and Simon were excellent.

Rob.
