This caught my eye in WHSmith today, and not just for the lovely Cara Dillon who adorns the front cover.
It's not about Radio 2, but Rock and Reel magazine given a new name and a makeover. It's aimed at anyone who likes folk, roots, singer-songwriter rock, alt-country, blues and world music. Their website is still called Rock and Reel - http://www.rock-n-reel.co.uk/
I'm not a devotee of music magazines, most of which follow Q's example of being full of lists, something I used to waste my time doing in my teenage years. A good 50% of this one is devoted to listings and reviews - an exhaustive review section - but there are some very interesting interviews, as listed on the cover, and a retrospective review of the career of the late Tim Buckley. Also included is a "free" CD of tracks from recent releases - this months has, amongst others, Roger Chapman, The Men They Couldn't Hang and Ned Ludd.
I hadn't seen Rock and Reel before - Smiths have always stocked fRoots, which covers similar ground - but, depending upon each month's content, it could be worth looking out for. Cover price £3.95 _________________ Ron |

I've come across Rock N reel before.
I wonder if they deliberately made it look like it was a mag about Radio 2? |
