I had to laugh tonight when CE said that he'd received a text saying "I used to think you were a plonker but now I really enjoy the show". CE said, "you'd be amazed how many texts we get like that these days."

I'm really pleased for you Chris, but don't count on getting one from me anytime soon Rolling Eyes Laughing

Fortunately, I was listening to K92 FM at the time, but I wonder how many texts he gets saying " I used to think you were a plonker.... and guess what?" Laughing

That's nearly as bad as Steve Wright reading out the 'love the show' texts. Rolling Eyes

I'll gladly send him one. It will say: "I used to think you were a plonker but now I think you're a prize pr*t!".

Easy!

I find PM is the answer to this problem. The only time I hear 'orrible Evans's voice is in those execrable trailers; if they are representative of his "show" then thank goodness for Eddie Mair!

I'm glad you enjoyed it Rachel - you obviously have a higher "excruciation" factor than I do!

Women can take more pain, MiS Smile Maybe that's why most of the Drivetime team are female. Smile Smile

I really don't understand why some people don't like Chris - he's so lovable, like a big puppy.

There's no need for anyone to make a list - this is a nice place. Smile If we don't like a particular show it's suffice to say, wouldn't you rather be Hemeling?

And I will never understand how anyone can find him entertaining, but I suppose it takes all sorts to make a world.

Exactly! It does take all sorts. There is only one Chris Evans; so if we didn't have him, then we wouldn't have all sorts, we'd be missing something.

Yes you would be missing something. If you don't have all sorts, then you don't have what it takes. Smile

You are right there Rachel, I'll never have what it takes to appreciate Evans.

As I came in tonight, I caught just a bit of Drivetime - the part where they decide whether a new song is a Hit or a Miss.

I'm pretty sure the "Gob Smacker" was Oasis?
anyway, whatever it was, I was amazed to find the first part of the song was the theme tune to "Father Ted" note for note!
Did anybody else hear this or was I dreaming? Razz

Maybe I'll listen again....

I've just mis-read the above. I thought you wrote "whether the show was a Hit or Miss"! Needless to say I was ready with a well-timed little quip! Smile

That was songs of love by Divine Comedy, yes it is/was used as the Father Ted theme tune.

Thanks Toggy, I thought it was.
I'll assume it was intentional rather than a rip off..
