When it comes to shopping for clothes men are worse at buying items then leaving them in draws and wardrobes with labels still attached than women.

I spotted a stripe jacket in a shop window.. a Ben Sherman... light blue with pink, white and dark blue stripes, beautifully cut and fitted.......I fell in love with it, they didn't have it in my size ... so I bought the next size up and had it, adjusted to fit.(waited for ages)..... over all it cost near to £200..... ... so I waited for that special occasion , put it on ... went down stairs, where my (now) hubby was waiting .... and he said; Gosh! What time does the show start? Back up the stairs, put it in the wardrobe .... it won't ever come out again.

Hmmm.... Alex was talking about buying a striped blazer this morning, one which he wore once to work until Ken Bruce mentioned that he liked his "Seaside Special" jacket, then never wore it again! Smile

Rachel, you are Alex Lester, and I claim my £5! Laughing

I'm your original woman at Oxfam. I have my own cheap style. If it fits I buy it. Very Happy

I hate buying clothes and even more so to waste money on "expensive" clothes, I look great in any old thing Laughing

but seriously,

I do! Laughing Laughing

But one thing really annoys me about my wife, she HAS to cut out the labels from the neck! because "they irritate her", she even cuts labels from MY t shirts!! quite why I don't know Shocked
I think she's crazy.....

I'm happy with plain blue jeans and loads of cheap t shirts which go through a process of "going out" quality followed by general work standard, then covered in paint but still ok before ending up in the garage as cleaning cloth.

I worked with a "very fussy dresser" chap in the 70's who methodically cut out labels and replaced them with posh brand labels! Shocked
I nearly fell over one time when he told me his shoes cost over £80 back then! I couldn't believe it. He got quite angry when I questioned the sense in it.

I love shopping in the sales when things are even cheaper Smile woohoo!
but I prefer wearing more bohemian things - eg strippy tights, polkadots, brihgt colours, etc etc Smile

I reckon men are also worse at going out in their new clothes with the labels still attached Laughing

I was so chuffed with the Nike hoody I got in NY at Xmas that I wore it all last week, including three times up the pub - now I've just remembered it's still in the laundry basket under this weeks pants Razz shall I wear it tonight?
