|
|
Hello all
as the title suggests... this is about Paolo Nutini...
I love his songs, and think it is such a shame that they used the machines in the studio to tone down that Paisley twang... If you watch any of the live clips on YouTube or better still if you can get yourself to onw of his gigs then you can really hear the difference between live and recorded
My only complaints about him would be:
1. Why did he have to move down to London?? *selling out*
2. Does he really have to be so pathetic on stage, hanging over the microphone like he's dying and pull those funny faces?
any thoughts?

He probably thought he'd succeed quicker or there was more chance of getting noticed there - no reflection on Glasgow but I suspect lots of bands and artists gravitate south for the same reason. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

yes, is probably what he thought
- but I just think it's really unnecessary, I mean, look at all the fabi bands from Glasgow
... Franz Ferdinand, Belle and Sebastian, Orange Juice, The Vaselines, Eugene Kelly, Snow Patrol....
and other Scottish ones:
The Proclaimers, The View, KT Tunstall...
I'm not certain of course but I don't think they moved away _________________ I was trying to daydream, but my mind kept wandering. |

He was being discussed on Simon Mayo's Sports Panel today. They said something about him only getting international success by changing his name to something less, er, Scottish! That was the first I knew about him coming from Paisley and that his real name is Paul Nuttall, or something. |

Ah, Orange Juice, great band - I hope Edwyn Collins is still on the mend:
Heard KT Tunstall when Stuart Maconie was sitting in for Chris Evans, well before her album became widely available - on the strength of her playing "Minature Disasters" I ordered the CD straight away!:

Hope he's not had a stroke too! I remember he was on Andrew Collins' 6Music show and was joking about having a headache, then the next day it all happened. |

2 brain hemorrhages, apparently, the second following an operation. He's reportedly undergoing rehab at the moment. I wish him well. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
