How about this?
This would sound pretty good to me.
4PM Bob Harris- California Dreaming. Classic Rock and new releases in Rock, Country, pop and Roots.
7PM Rockin' Suzi Q- Put on your blue suede shoes and get into saturday night mood with retro styled Rock N Roll
9PM Rockin America with Paul Gambuccini. New and old hits from the US charts in Rock, pop and country.
11PM You Must Remember This- Classic songs from back in the mists of time |

Sundays On Radio 2
Sunday Afternoon/ Evening Listening
1PM Songs From The Shows. Elaine Paige or maybe a replacement?
3PM Sounds of the Seventees-Johnnie Walker
6PMThe Lullabye Of Broadway- Music from the Golden Era of Popular Songs (from before I was born but great classics for the older folks and the old at heart). Who could present this?
9PM Roger Scott. (I know. But anyone who could do half of what he did for radio) |

Not at all bad in itself but, though I don't care that much for Alan Titchmarsh as a presenter, I wouldn't want to see his type of light classical music totally overlooked.

Good point. I would like to see more variety & specialist shows weekdays nights & less of Rad & Marconi.
Most of all, less of that 6PM saturday squawking guy |

NOw Roger Scott on Radio 2, that would be a treat - but I'd put him on Drivetime where he would be perfect. RIP Roger. |

I remember Roger Scott on Capital Radio in the 1970s early 1980s. Yes it would be a treat to have someone of his ilk on in the afternoons, indeed, why not make it all day? Imagine it, proper knowledgeable DJs in charge of the nation's music. Now that would be a treat. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

"Grab yourself a little piece of heaven,
With Roger Scott from three to seven".
And the great thing about Roger Scott was that he was so relaxed on the radio. He never tried to be anything other than what he was. Less was more. Every so often, though, his humour would come out to play. Coming out of the news, when Capital always read out the weather forecast...
"And the forecast. West Ham 3, Spurs 1. And the weather..."
Oh, yes, he supported West Ham. Almost forgot that. He didn't, mind. He loved Dolly Parton, too - wide tastes, that man.
And Adrian Love (who did the phone in after Roger's stint in the afternoon) once told me that Roger left the headphones very loud. "That man must be mutton".

Ah Adrian Love! Was listening to an old cassette at the weekend with bits and pieces of miscellany on it. On was a bit from (I think) his afternoon Radio 2 show, and I'd left him on at the end of the song. To think we used to try to get rid of the DJ on recordings, I wish I'd left a few more on now! Memories..........

I recall Roger scott on Capital & in later years on Radio 1 on Saturdays! A brilliant show with an eclectic range of music & a variety of guests from the world of music who would never be heard on Radio 1 now!
But would be perfect for Radio 2.
I remember adrian love on LBC. He always sounded bad tempered, so i used to avoid his shows on radio 2. Was he bad tempered on them? |

I liked Brian Hayes. And seeing as his stint on Radio 2 lunchtimes rated higher than either Jimmy Young or Jeremy Vine I'm surprised he's not been kept on. |

Indeed Ian. I preferred him to both, especially Vine. |

I'm getting a bit fed up with Michael ball on the sunday brunch show. i like the format, but he is getting a bit OTT.
To add to my earlier sunday schedule preceding the show tunes at
10AM SARAH KENNEDY with the extended & improved SUNDAY BRUNCH.
She'd be brilliant at it |

Completely agree about M Ball - heard this week's and it was awful. Who was that appalling film/tv reviewer? Couldn't bear Ball's sycophancy, all the false laughter.
Sunday is luvvie day now, Ball, EP, O'Grady, SW (pantomime) - as usual with the BBC they think more is more!
Still at least I do listen to some of Sunday's R2 shows - unlike Saturdays which I never bother with at all. _________________ MiS |

I thought Michael Parkinson was much better in that slot than ball. Previously i didn't mind ball, but he does seem to be getting more OTT the last few weeks.
Maybe Michael Aspel could return for more of the shows? I thought Aspel seemed a bit sleepy when he hosted, but he was certainly less irritating than Ball is becomming.
Have you noticed it is always Michael's in this spot? Is that compulsory? |

I heard most of Ball's show this Sunday, and surely the constant plugs for his tour and DVD are against the BBC Charter? Even Wogan's been told off for less. |

Isn't half the weekend team something other than a Radio DJ? |
