Mmmm. wouldn't go that far, it's a bit repetitive.Godmother didn't add much to it on Strictly, lots of (tattooed) arm waving.

The performance on Strictly sounded better than the video, and to hear it without the video it's really very weak. The original was by The Shirelles - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns1exm8Y5r4

There is an album - it's full of stuff like My Boy Lollipop and Tell Him

The girl's only 13... If she were British there'd be accusations of child exploitation.

Not waving.... drowning I would think Rolling Eyes

I think it's a very thin performance, with very little contrast, and sounds tinny enough to be on SOTS. Very over-hyped.

When I saw her on Strictly Come Dancing, I had to wonder where she had sprung from all of a sudden? Has she been promoted on other shows or radio? if not, how come she gets to appear on a prime time show like SCD.. she's a talented kid but not exactly jaw dropping.

Ms Winehouse annoys me in general but she couldn't even synchronize her arm waving with the other singers... why not? Rolling Eyes

Is there no end to what Ms Winehouse will inflict on herself?

I know she does not make the wisest choices.

But she seems to be off the drugs & getting back to business

Errrm...she IS British. She was born in Kent and lives in London now I believe. Who wants to contact the authorities? Shocked

Nepotism will get you far, as Lily Allen and Fearne 'granddaughter of Bill' Cotton have shown.

Dusty Springfield did a fair version of this, which has been played on SOTS, but I think Amy's niece is being groomed as this decade's equivalent of Lolly - a little girl singing girl-group songs.

I read in a book about the 60's girl groups that the appeal was that a lot of them sang like children, so little girls automatically latched on and learned the songs, just like my niece is doing now with a lot of girl singers now!

She's got an okay voice, but I do wonder if my 9-year-old niece's version of 'Good Morning Baltimore' (from 'Hairspray') would have got as much publicity.

Maybe I'm bitter, but my niece has a better voice!
