Don't forget to change the time on your 'Profile' page of this forum either!

We are now GMT.

There's always something rather depressing about the clocks going back. Still, looking forward to some real fires this winter!

At least the mornings will be lighter for a few weeks!

I think the "benefit" of the lighter morning lasts all of three weeks.

The Commons Public Accounts Committee has recommended to ministers that we run the 1970 experiment again - (semi)permanent British Summer Time. Some road safety groups and RSPoA agree, pointing to the increase in road accidents in the dark afternoons, particularly amongst schoolchildren, and go further, suggesting we align with most of Europe and have GMT+2 in the summer.

Daylight until after eleven in June/July - sales of sunglasses, or blindfolds (for sleep), would soar! Cool

Never understood the point of this. If it's such a problem, why not start school earlier (or later, whichever suits) rest of us have to change work start times so why should teachers etc be exempt?

I do remember that. Not changing the clocks in the Autumn. Ok the evenings may be lighter but that would be at the expense of dark mornings. I remember arriving at school in the morning while it was still pitch dark. It really didn't feel right at all!!
