How do you fathom that one out Mark?

We didn't lose an hour so it should make no difference.

I meant. I-Player hasn't got the last hour of his show.

There has been a gremlin in the i-player and tracklistings for his show for some weeks. At the moment 11th October is showing in the place of Sunday's.

I think iPlayer must be in a different time zone! It shouldn't have made any difference.

Don't know what is up with the playlisting either, as you say it's weeks out of date!

That's a good idea Sandra! I used to use it a lot for recording radio then got out of the habit.

Listening via recordings- ho ho!

Why not listen live-it's so much better-you never know you might enjoy the listening experience more.

Allinson rocks-you bet he does.

Hello - Santa's arrived!

Most of us have something better to do at that hour - like sleep. And if I wake up I switch him on, and I'm soon back in the land of Nod.

Trouble is, he's alright for those who have to be awake then, but he's not required listening for the rest of us - there's nothing he says or plays which we are the poorer for missing (because we'll hear most of it played by someone else on the station sooner or later)

This unmitigated adulation of Allinson is really extraordinary - surely Mark M must BE Richard A, or at the very least related to or employed by him? Confused

Or One of the three sons. I think it's good if he's contributing to this forum.

Did anyone notice that during the Great British Songbook, he said that John Lennon's song 'Imagine' was on 'John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band'?<doh>

Maybe it was the hours confusing him.

MiS and Mark O-Instead of making snide/smart arse comments against me why not make a sensible contribution to this thread instead.

Eg What do you think of the Great Scottish Songbook feature recently?

What are the 'so many privileges' of belonging to the '3.46 am club'? I'm eager to know. Surely it's not top secret info!

Only if you promise to write about something other than your beloved Allinson Rolling Eyes

Sorry- If I upset you, I wasn't being rude. I do like Richard A shows, one of the great DJ's on Radio 2 who knows about music. He should have a daytime weekday show. How about either the Irish or welsh songbook?

Very good. Let me see... did he play any Julie Fowlis, Five Hand Reel, Shooglenifty or Aly Bain? No, I thought not. Not even Runrig.

Sharleen Spiteri, Big Country, Paulo Nutini, Deacon Blue Rolling Eyes
(At least he managed to spare us Simple Minds.... for that week)

Ally McBain the folky lawyer? Do you mean Aly Bain?

I don't hold out much hope of Allinson playing anything from Fish's solo albums, although 'Fortunes Of War' from 'Suits' relates well to Remembrance Sunday.

A DJ has to be more than pretty special to get me up to listen at 3am but more than that, their name needs to run through my heart like the letters in a stick of rock to get me to listen to them on the I-player during the day. Richard is good but not that good. There's 15 hours of Alex on the i-player every week and also a 20 minute oddcast. If when I've exhausted Alex twice over, and there's nothing I'm doing that needs doing, and it's not Drivetime, Jezza or Wogan, then and only then, might I try Richard on the i-player. The Best chance Richard has is a move to a daytime slot- then I could listen while ironing.
