I do think Martin is correct in one way how much you should or shouldn't spend at Christmas. People don't always know the true meaning of Christmas. Although he does seem to come across as a little scrooge
What does everyone else think? |

I can see where he is coming from, there is no doubt Christmas has become an over hyped spendfest.
However to suggest we should not give people presents at all is a bit stingy.
I will go along with the spend within your means line if thinking though, I do think some people feel obliged to spend money they don't have which is not good. |

These make good pressies...they're useful to the recipient, better for the environment than the plastic alternative and most importantly, they help people in real need. They're quite trendy too.. You can get em from Harrods and other places.

I'll have to listen again as I was out.
I tried to ring on both the other topics but couldn't get through for either.

It was the ones in the first hour, I was in the car (stationary I'll add as I don't have hands free!) or I'd have emailed.

Jezza was on top form today... the wee thing was really funny... I was thinking , yeah but what about us girls though we can't wee at the bottom of the garden , then that chap said, womens' wee wasn't as good... phew I thought...... Then I thought about those shewee things maybe we could wee with those at the bottom of the garden.... it all came crashing down though when I realised that you need a bail of straw first ... I'll pick one of those up at Waitrose next week, along with a shewee and a pair of wellies, then it's game on big boy, we'll see who can wee the furthest. |

I'm completely baffled by the heterosexual couple who were demanding the right to enter into a civil partnership because they wanted neither marriage nor cohabitation. Could the whole thing have been a publicity stunt?

I found that a bit odd too, nowadays you can even get married in your own home with no religious verses or hymns included if that is your preference.
A wedding does not automatically mean big dress, church, loads of sozzled relatives, etc. I could not really understand where the lady was coming from |
