Can't we tell it's CIN week? I switched the car radio on at 7.55am to hear Wogan (and some other guy) talking about CIN. Charles Nove read the 8.00am news, then at 8.05 Wogan and the other fella came back on talking about CIN.

By 8.10am, I got fed up with hearing them going on and on and on. I switched to Heart 106.2 for the remainder of my journey.

Is anyone else sufferign from CIN fatigue?

I'm certainly not listening to Wogan's show this week - and I don't know anyone who will be. It's just for rich people to show off.

You're right about rich people showing off. How much would you pay to go to lunch with the two Knights? Roger Moore is one of them. Terry Wogan will also be "lurking around" on the day.

I thought the endless waffle would stop straight after the news, but no. More than 5 minutes later and Wogan (and his guest) were still banging on and on about CIN. I am all for charity and I am glad CIN raised 33 million pounds last year. As always, though, Wogan wants even more raised this year.

If I had a pound for every time Wogan mentions CIN then I could donate the proceeds to the charity. What I don't appreciate is CIN being rammed down our throats. This morning's constant waffle about CIN was beyond the joke. Radio 2 is a music station and people want to commute to work in the morning to the sound of music - not to the sound of Wogan's voice banging on and on about CIN.

I wonder how many more listeners will cease tuning in this week? No doubt we will hear Wogan banging on about CIN for the next fortnight.

The "things money can't buy unless you've got a spare million in your back pocket" auction does make for some tedious listening. That said, I thought Sir Roger was on good form on the phone this morning. It did make me think of that Alan Partridge episode though, where he eventually manages one word with Moore before the line goes dead. The auctioneer bloke doesn't seem to have heard of some of the people he's selling. I heard him today describe the glamorous dancer Erin Boag, from Strictly Come Dancing, as Eric Boag!

But the trouble with the auction is that the number of people who can afford to take part must be a really tiny proportion of the audience, and if your wallet rules you out there's not much in that hour for you.

It's not just Wogan's show, as the CIN week progresses more and more of R2 programmes have more to do with CIN than anything else. I know that the money raised does make so much difference to so many kids, but if we are going to donate our hard earned cash, why can't all celebrity fund-raisers donate their time/fee to the relevant charity? We get some tremendous tracks requested, so what do the Beeb do, cut them short to raise more money, so as far as I am concerned, it's a rip-off. So I donate to the charities I want to support, directly and gift aid it so "Golden Brown", sorry, " Darling Chancellor", (same, same) don't get his hands on so much in taxes. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I quite like it myself.
What if the auction wasn't there? you'd only get Kylie or Enrique played yet again.
Anything to break the playlist monotony gets my vote.

Wogan's playlist has got worse (and so repetitive). I don't think Wogan's prattle about CIN is a good alternative, though.

Wogan's waffle this morning was way too much. To be honest I'm getting a bit fed up with him as of late. He's turning into a clone of Chris Evans/Russell Brand. That's not good.

I used to really like Wogans show, It used to have great music which is now getting more and more like boring Bruces everyday.
Also there was great banter with Pauly, Deadly and Fran, I'm sorry but Lynne Bowles is a very poor substitute.
PS FirewireFred, I love your little signature, that is funny

I don't think Wake Up to Wogan has been anywhere near as good as it used to be since the death of Paul Waters. Wogan spouts the same rubbish every morning and plays the same records. No wonder he is losing listeners.

As for Ken Bruce, I find him too smug and patronising. I also find he mumbles too much. I have never liked him.

Weekday breakfast, mid morning and afternoons are in urgent need of a revamp on Radio 2. Sarah Kennedy, Terry Wogan, Ken Bruce and Steve Wright all sound boring and dated whereas Chris Evans makes Drivetime sound like a poor imitation of Junior Choice.

I guess that Sarah Kennedy and Terry Wogan will be succeeded by Chris Evans, Ken Bruce by Dermot O'Leary, Steve Wright by Russell Brand, and Davina McCall will replace Chris Evans on Drivetime (when he moved to breakfast).

Radio 2 is gonna sound much different in 2 years time, mark my words.

So you like Jeremy Vine's show then? At least that's one show you actually like.

Why bother with Radio 2 (and with this board) if you don't like any of it?

"Is anyone else sufferign from CIN fatigue? "

I have for years. Too much Wogan running auctions for the rich, too many news readers thinking they are entertaining by dressing up (its more like amateur night), too much of Wogan appearing on the Friday night show to just grab the cheques that people have worked hard to raise and just moving on... Crying or Very sad

Turned on Sk this morning to hear her going on and on about the package with her you can bid for on Thursday Rolling Eyes

There are parts of Radio 2 I do like. As for this board, I have just as much right to post on here as you do.

This is a board for people who like and appreciate Radio 2 - you never tell us what you like, only (repeatedly) what you don't. Why not be positive for a change?

(and positive does not mean "Richard was brilliant today, much better than Sarah Kennedy who is dire and should be axed")

That in 2 years, even if the line-up is completely changed you still won't be happy and will still be moaning over and over about everything and everyone.

And what about others on this forum who repeatedly show their contempt towards Chris Evans, Steve Wright and a few others? Why only moan about my postings when this forum is full of anti-Chris Evans/Steve Wright threads posted by others?

Richard Allinson is brilliant and Sarah Kennedy is dire. My thoughts about the two of them will never change.

Yes, the lineup has changed. Some of the changes I applaud whereas others I loathe. Other parts of the lineup are in urgent need of makeover (in my opinion).

I think Chris Evans is the wrong host for Drivetime, I think Dermot O'Leary is rubbish, and I think Russell Brand is a loud, foulmouthed idiot. I am not the only listener who is not happy with some of the signings Lesley Douglas has brought to the network these last 3 years.

I remember Saturdays used to be the best day on Radio 2. I would listen from 2pm when Pick of the Pops came on and stay tuned for Richard Allinson and Paul Gambaccini. If I stayed in then I would listen to Bob Harris later on. Nowadays I detest Saturdays on the network. Stuart Maconie is good - but not as good as what Richard Allinson. As for Paul Gambaccini, I don't often tune into him anymore because I can't be bothered. Oh, and let's all spare a thought for Bob Harris who has been marginalised all thanks to Russell Brand.

By the way, I thought I would give Wogan another try this morning. What did I hear? The same as yesterday: non-stop prattle and talk about CIN. After a couple of minutes, I switched to Smooth FM. I shall do the same for the next 2 days because I am sick to the back teeth with CIN being rammed down our throats. It's bad enough Wogan's show has turned into a talk marathon this week. No wonder he is losing listeners.

Just thought I'd update you all......

I just pressed the fast forward button on my Sky+ remote so I could "Listen Again Before It's Happened" To Wogan's show tomorrow morning. As I thought, it's full of CIN auction stuff again so I'll definitely be listening to Smooth FM again for the rest of the week.

Good news though, as I won't be listening to Terry I won't be able to comment on something I haven't listened to and I'll have no need to post about it tomorrow.

Doh! I'm such a Clott!

You have a very low opinion of yourself. I'll take your word for it.

Anyway, I thought perhaps you would like to come on over and do some trolling on the Internet. Oh well, your loss. I'll give Phil Urapitus a call instead.

Not all of them are run by Turks. There are three kebab outlets here in Thurrock - all ran by rival Greeks. All three places have given me the Tom Tits the very next day.

I've had kebabs before when sober. On several occasions I have been driving during the night and felt hungry. I have noticed a kebab outlet. Very nice they were, too - at the time. Shocked

My mate Paul reckons Danny Baker looks like a guy from a kebab shop.

Anyway, what's all this got to do with Wogan's constant ramming CIN down our necks? Confused

Ok so it was a dig but it was designed to look as though you'd posted it, thus fooling the less intelligent memebers of this board. Don't worry, there'll be some thickos on here tomorrow who'll think you've been having a conversation with yourself!!

I wouldn't say things like that. You might upset Mark Occomore.

I'm definitely suffering from CIN fatigue. At the time of writing my workplace's funding is due to run out in December, and the bosses mean to apply for more.

If they get it, there is a possible chance of me getting paid, and all this CIN promotion, as a result, gets on my threepenny bits as it all seems to be celebrities conning poorer people into donating when all they could do is write cheques themselves and put some our way!
