Anyone see this in the Guardian yesterday:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/nov/21/chris-evans-lines-up-moira-stuart

I'm quite surprised - surely as for transition, Chris would be better keeping the established newsreaders. I enjoyed Moira's comedy when she appeared on Have I Got News for You so I can imagine this working but rather surprised all the same.

Looks like a good move to me, sweep out all the Wogan crew and have a new start.

I think the newreaders on Wogan, and when JW stands in, are getting too much airtime Very Happy

Do they really think that bringing back an older news reader will make people listen to Chris???

Not a chance!

I really like Moira Stuart, she is an excellent Newsreader, but if she does join Evans I won't be hearing her. Since Alan Dedicoate is chief Newsman, I can't see him being turfed out.

Whilst they are about it they should move out "motormouth/I love myself" Lynn Bowles and replace her with the excellent Bobbi Prior.

That's good (if it's true) I like Moira Stuart.

I completely disagree. I really like Lynn, her banter with Ken is excellent. Bobbi doesn't have the same chemistry.

You can at least hear every word that Lynn says in the traffic reports, quite crucial when you're on the road with all the associated noise around you.

I like Lynn, I like her a lot.

this girl from splot
My heart beats faster
when I hear her voice
for our morning travel girl
she's the very best choice.

Chris Tarrant used to have his own personal newsreader and traffic reporter. Howard Hughes and Russ Kane. Wait for it he may put a plane up in the sky to report on the traffic? Laughing
