Whilst it will be nice to still have Terry on the airwaves I for one am disappointed that Michael Ball's show will not be as regular as it currently is. In my opinion they should put Terry's show into Elaine Paige's current slot and have her show on a less regular basis.

Not being a particular fan of Michael Ball, I would say I'm happy to hear less of him. I don't mind EP's show at all even if it is a little manic in the music department sometimes.. but it's part of the Sunday "listening" experience for me. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Ball is such a luvvy, he's almost unlistenable. I'm sure he's got worse. Wogan will be a nice change. _________________ MiS |

I agree with Johnump - I would much prefer less of EP - in fact I wouldn't mind if Sir Terry replaced her on a full time basis. I think Michael Ball's show is absolutely fine. |

I got really caught out with EP last Sunday ... straight after the 13:00 news they played a trail for Paul O'Grady that sounded like he was on ... so I didn't quite get to the off button before EP started..... so yes I'd agree with Johnump too. |

Got to agree with everyone that IMHO Terry would be better in EPs time slot. I think 11 is a bit early for a live music show especially on a Sunday. Wonder if it's just a short term thing to ease us into having no Terry at all?

I think I would agree. It's a long time since I indulged in fantasy schedules...
9.00 Johnnie Walker Sounds of the 70s
11.00 Sunday Love Songs
13.00 Terry Wogan
15.00 Elaine Paige (if she must Film/stage musicals are good, just can't stand her)
So anyway, we get four weeks of Michael Ball in January, Terry's show starts 7th Feb for a run of twelve. When Michael is next due on he's in the middle of a tour of Hairspray,, at Glasgow and Southampton. I suppose he can manage both. _________________ Ron |

I don't think Sounds Of the 70's is an essential move as the show could be shorter lived than Michael Balls show.
7-9am - GMS
9-11am - SLS
11-1pm - Paul O'Grady
1-3pm - EP
3-5pm - Wogan - Whilst Wogan is off Richard Allinson or Zoe Ball Music Show
5-7pm - SO70's |

Why exactly Mark? I'd say just the opposite.
Michael Ball's format will be on for 4 weeks as opposed to Terry's 12 I think. A sure way to kill off something!

I know that Michael does a lot of touring etc but I think the cut in the number of his shows is too much. It makes sense to have a regular alternative when Michael is on tour but surely it should be Ball who has the 12 show run rather than Terry. _________________

I've said this before, but the ideal solution would have been for Ball to replace Love Songs, then have EP then Terry from 1pm. |

I like the format of Michael Ball's show, but am not that keen on michael Ball, certainly not the pompous newspaper reviewer.
Could we have Michael Aspel hosting the show? I think the music from the shows prog should stay at 1PM, but i find elaine paiges' cackling a bit OTT at times.
I thin k sounds of the seventees is getting kind of stale. radio 2 should slot in a mellow Magic type of music show for that slot.
I thought Wogan would be ideal for the Paul o Grady slot at 5PM |

How about Johnnie Walker having his old slot(s) back and doing the type of show(s) he used to do? This would be my choice. _________________ Pirate Johnnie Walker played my request on 11 April 2009 |

Yes, I don't see why he always has to be stuck in a time warp, as he clearly appreciates music from all eras |
