In the interests of balance and all that! Wink

Thought I'd sit down and actually try to listen to his last hour and a half.

So far, he's actually not being too irritating. Maybe he's mellowed, or I have.

He's doing another 4 shows yet, isn't he? His last Drivetime is on Christmas Eve but before that he's bizarrely doing a show from the O2 Arena!

Oh dear, I've missed the first half. I was watching Paul O'Grady's last show.

Still, I've another half hour before we go out to dinner.....in the interests of balance and all that.... I'll give it a go Wink

Oh, didn't realise. He keeps talking about the "last" this and that, so I simply assumed.... Embarassed

No, I just couldn't do it to myself. I know I'm not perfect, but I don't think I've done anything that bad.

This is why I can't stand Chris Evans, I just turned the radio on and was delighted to hear Nat King Cole, "Let's Face the Music.."
I turn up the volume only to have him shout over the song at least three times! Evil or Very Mad it's sacrilege..

Perhaps it was a "key change" SFF?

Seriously, tonight I became even more exasperated than ever as he tried to ingratiate himself with the grannies and grandads, all no doubt in preparation for his "tog" conversion.

Whatever happened to just listening to someone play some records with a bit of intelligent chat every now and then? Crying or Very sad

I think that question should be addressed to one Lesley Douglas & currently Bob Shennan!

It's the only thing that's keeping me sane at the moment Powerfulglenith! I've never known JW to make a full-on"production" out of what he does. It's radio, not a variety show! Rolling Eyes

Well Minx, I have to say I failed to find that in the Wogan show so rarely listened for more than 5 minutes - EVER!

27 years and he failed to entertain me.

And i never found it in Evans Drivetime, and so I'm still unlikely to become an R2 breakfast person.

I'll agree that Sir Terry's show did get a bit samey towards the end, and I can see where those that criticise him are coming from when they said that you had to be a member of his 'inner circle' to have anything read out on the show. Despite this, he could still be genuinely funny at times. I was glad to be on the late shift when John Marsh 'corpsed' twice in a few days whilst reading the traffic news, (Lynn Bowles wasn't doing the traffic then) These are now immortilised on CD2 of the second Janet & John CDs. I found the 'Janet & John' missives themselves were very funny, though when Sir Terry introduced the 'funny' voices to them, they lost much of their spark. Much funnier when the whole thing was done in his natural voice. At least he didn't yell at you all the time.
