After looking like we would never get there come Tuesday morning the roads were all clear so off we went. Got there and back no problem at all, it was ruddy cold but that didn't matter!
He was awesome, on stage for about 2 hr 45 mins with no break, excellent mixture of Beatles, Wings and solo stuff. Very moving tributes for John (played Here Today) George (played Something) and Linda (played My Love) all 'something in my eye' moments.
He even played Mull of Kintyre which I wasn't expecting.
We were siting up high and the seats are arranged in such a way that it is steep as well. It was no problem for me but the lady sitting on the end of our row suffered vertigo, not much fun for her at all poor lady. |

Glad you made it Toggy! Sounds like it was a fantastic gig.
It was over 40 years ago when I saw all 4 Beatles live but can still see it in my mind. Not a huge fan now, but would love to have seen him live again.

Thanks shakyfan, I will be ordering that DVD once Christmas is over and I have more time to enjoy it properly.
I really hope they release a DVD of the London concert.
Apparently Harry Hill, David Beckham, Dhani Harrison, Madonna and Gary Barlow were among the audience.
David Walliams (little Britain) was definitely there as somebody has posted a video on you tube of him bopping away to Paperback Writer |

They still have it for £9.99 but it's out of stock, however they have the 'deluxe' version for £15.99 it has 2 CDs, 2 DVDs and a book so I've gone for it It's only another 6 quid after all. |

Said set arrived today, well worth the money! basically it is almost the same gig I went to with one or two changes.
No Mull of Kintrye or Wonderful Christmastime but they would have been an odd choice in July
We didn't get I saw her standing there but did get Magical Mystery tour, other than that it was pretty much the same and I really enjoyed watching it.
I hope in spite of the similarities they release a DVD of Good Evening London. |
