Yes heard about 20 minutes of Drivetime today as we were driving home from the Sales. I have to agree with you-it was not very good.

Even my wife said "lets turn over to Heart"!

The good news is that the mighty Richard Allinson is covering Drivetime for the whole of next week-yippee.

It wasn't "Drivetime", it was David Tennant talking to Russell T Davies about Dr Who. I agree it was rather self-congratulatory if not smug, but in reality it did exactly what it said on the tin.

I agree MiS, I was beginning to think I had been listening to a different programme to everyone else. Maybe it was a bit self-congratulatory but then they have quite a lot to congratulate themselves about haven't they?
It wasn't great radio but I thought it was for the most part interesting and enjoyable.

Should I invite David Tennant over for lunch on Sunday?

After all, he's been almost everywhere else over the holiday!

Ian.

I read somewhere that he has made 75 different appearances for the BBC over Christmas and NY. When they make their mind up to promote someone they really go for it, don't they.

Take Chris Evans.

Pleeeeeeease! Wink

I can't believe someone has mistaken a documentary for a music show. Happens at this time every year, just so happens this was about Doctor Who.

I hold my hands up Ian-I did-tuned in for about 20 minutes or so once the show had started and didn't realise it was a documentary as opposed to Drivetime.

I didn't ralise that till someone posted that on the BBC R2 MBs.
Thing is it was in the wrong slot. It should have been on later.

I'd slightly agree it was the wrong slot but, as I say, it's traditional this time of year. Many's the time I've been on long car journeys and been annoyed to come across documentaries on the likes of Fleetwood Mac and Nick Drake when I just want music.

AGGGHHHHH!!! This isn't the same as getting, say, Alan Carr presenting a music show. It was a documentary about popular culture, the kind of show Radio 2 run several times a week every week. I thoroughly enjoy them (especially the recent Monty Python ones and this week's Elvis movies one) and have enjoyed all the previous Doctor Who documentaries that Radio 2 have produced and released on CD.
