Have just sen the news that Mark Hughes has been sacked as manager of Manchester City despite them winning today 4-3 against Sunderland.
Hughes was in charge for just 18 months.
The wealthy owners clearly want instant success. Will Mancini the replacement be the man to deliver for them. Personally I don't think he will.
Time will tell.
I feel sorry for Mark Hughes. |

It was inevitable, given the pressure on managers today. Rafa could be next after today's woeful performance by LFC against Portsmouth. Unless we can buy some decent new players in January, I think he will have to go. This squad is poor compared to the LFC of the past. |

I watched your game today as my wife is a huge Pompey fan.
I thought Liverpool were poor and I do tend to agree with you that unless Rafa gets a run of winning results together soon then he could face the chop in January. I don't understand why Rafa lines Liverpool up so defensively-2 defensive midfield players every game.
Why not go more offensive and try and score some goals. |

By the way Briant I should mention I am a huge Chelsea fan/season ticket holder.
Our performances in the last 6 or so games have been pretty poor.
My wife and I went to the Chelsea versus Pompey game earlier this week.
It was utterly terrible and Chelsea were lucky to win.
My wife bless her sat in the Pompey end with some of her old friends and I was with with my regular friends in our normal seats.
After about 75 minutes about 50 or so of the (male) Pompey fans took their shirts off and starting singing silly songs in absolute freezing conditions. I believe they were copying the same Chelsea tradition as some of our fans do the same thing when its snows. They then rub deep heat into their bodies to keep warm.
Are they mad! |

One can't help remembering some of Darwin's observations about the gene pool and survival of the fittest. _________________ Minx

Why wasn't Richard Allinson given the Man City job? _________________ MiS |

Hi Mark. Yes I've seen those Pompey fans with their shirts off at LFC games. Not a pretty sight, are they? |

Briant-Have to say the Pompey away support at Chelsea last Wednesday (with and without their shirts on) was very impressive-very noisy throughout the match. |

Hopefully LFC have got their act together after tonight's win against Aston Villa. Anyway congratualtions to Fernando Torres on his 50th goal for Liverpool tonight! Well done to Pepe Reina too! |
