Interesting to see Jodie covering for P O'G on 10-01-10.

I really enjoy listening to Paul-he plays a very interesting mix of music on a Sunday-lots of Northern soul, Motown hits etc.

Will Jodie still have the dead pets feature I wonder.

Jodie has covered for Elaine Paige too. Dead Pet spot is something different that other stations wouldn't touch.

The Dead Pets feature always make me smile/chuckle-must be my sense of humour!

I've really turned on to P O'G. Even tuned in to watch the last of his TV programmes. He's someone who's really re-invented himself, after dispensing with that dreadful Lily Savage thing, and has a great way with words.

Not sure about Jody Prenger standing in for him. Even though I was raised in the north of England, that whole "eeh by 'eck" routine sounds completely wrong on her. Mostly she just irritates me.

A great way with words? 'Put yer 'ands together' seemed to be his catchphrase if I happened to be channel hopping when his TV show was on Rolling Eyes He is a pantomime dame that's all. Only Les Dennis is more irritating in my book.

I am glad when his show on Radio 2 started I had no idea who Paul O Grady was. Had I known it was Lilly Savage I would have avoided the show.
But he does indeed seem to have re invented himself. Quite an enjoyable show, tho i don't listen all weeks

Another good thing about Pauls' show is that, like Carringtons', it is pretty eclectic. He plays a wide range of stuff there, including music you rarely hear elsewhere

I am not enjoying listening to Paul's stand-in.

I am breaking my own rule-ie keep on listening-I keep thinking it will get better in a minute-it hasn't so far!

For once we find ourselves in agreement, Mark.

I've turned the radio down.. and spent a few minutes debating about which is worse, Cilla or Jodie Prenger (as a radio presenter, of course). Not yet reached a conclusion.

The music's OK though. Smile

Had to look her name up on Wikipedia to work out who she was.

That's three minutes of my life I wish I had back again. Rolling Eyes

I did much the same as you Minx, but as you say the music was good. I've heard worse presenters.

Many moons ago Amanda Platell sat in for Jeremy Vine, she was absolutely appalling, I don't think she had done any radio before. It certainly sounded that way. I don't think she was asked back! On that vein, I wonder what Fern Britton will be like this week?
